Flag Wars

October 1

1. HOMEGROUPS MAKE FLAGS
Do it on your own. Make a flag or a banner or a really cool little trinket.
Whatever you want. Post it up in your Homegroup and be prepared for it to get taken. If you don’t have the time or resources to make your own flag come to one of the flag making parties (July 22nd and Unity Day). All materials will be provided.
2. HOMEGROUPS TAKE FLAGS
Get your Homegroup together, as well as anyone that supports your group, all area groups and NA members welcome. Pile in a car or a truck or a boat or whatever form of transportation you may have access to and haul over to a Homegroup who’s flag you’d love to hang on your wall.
At the begining of the meeting if you have more supporters for your Homegroup than that meeting has Homegroup members present, their flag is yours (as well as your own if they have already taken it). Take their flag nicely and don’t mess it up. You may not get to keep it forever.
Stay to the end of the meeting and learn something from someone. Be quiet and do not disrupt the atmosphere of recovery. Share your experience and hug a newcomer. Generally, just don’t be a jerk.
Take the flag back to your Homegroup and hang it up by yours and get ready to protect your turf by having as many Homegroup members present as possible. You can bet they’ll be coming back for it. The Homegroup with the most flags at the end wins. (Bonus points for longest flag possessions (the points don’t matter)).
3. PROFIT
Okay. There is no profit. You just get to be the baddest Homegroup in the land and brag about it until next year. Beyond that, you got to get to know your Homegroup better and
get out of your comfort zone. You got to go support some meetings you may not go to all the time, all in the name of friendly competition and legal thievery.
Sounds worth it right?
